2D Puppets
3D Rigs
These 2D Puppets started out as drawings, then brought into Photoshop. In Photoshop I created shapes that overlapped in order to have full range of motion. After creating the puppet design I imported the Photoshop layers into Aftereffects to mechanically rig the characters so they can be animated.

These 3D Rigs were created in Autodesk Maya. The Ashfari Rig has an auto rig scripting tool created by a SCAD alumni student. The Medusa rig has cluster deformers to control the snake like hair, along with blend shapes to change the facial expression. The Simple bot has a foot roll animation control set up for easy access for the animator. The Dweeb rig is simple but shows the fundamentals of 3 dimensional rigs.
